Paul Watkins is a proud native of Kokomo, Indiana. He has a bit of a “farm boy” presence about him from growing up on a small farm just west of Kokomo.
After graduating from Northwestern High School in 2006, Paul went on to study computer science, sustainability, and business at Indiana University , IUPUI, and finally received a Bachelor’s of Science in Informatics with a Business Cognate from Indiana University Kokomo in 2010.
Paul built his first computer when he was 14 years old, built a gaming network for his friends out of old computers and parts when he was 15, and has continued to do more impressive things from there. He has worked for Indiana University since 2007 primarily serving the Kokomo campus, evolving from a helpdesk consultant to a system administrator role. He also served the Bloomington campus for a brief stint in 2010, working with Research Technologies to provide technical support for the Pervasive Technology Institute. Also during 2010 and carrying over into 2011, he worked as a technology coordinator for Zionsville Community Schools. Now he has returned to the Indiana University Kokomo campus as the Manager of Systems Administration.
Close to the same time Paul began his career with Indiana University, he started a small computer repair company. Watkins Technological Labs was formed in August of 2007 and provided high value computer repair. In 2010, Paul revamped the company, changing it into what is Watkins Industries, LLC. Watkins Industries provides a myriad of services and strives to make a meaningful impact in Central Indiana.
Recently Paul has began devoting his time to writing and community with the hopes of helping local small business grow and helping local students and community members find opportunities to show off their talents and excel.
